U-Guard — Plastic

Electrical Materials Company plastic U-Guards (risers) are designed to give non-conductive, high impact protection for power and communication cables installed vertically on poles.

U-Guard — Steel

The EMC steel flanged “U” Guards are manufactured from 14 gauge steel, with the maximum weight of hot dip galvanizing to be compatible with the life expectancy of standard pole line hardware.

EMC plastic adapters provide a transition from buried conduit to Plastic U-Guards or conduit.

U-Guard Adapters — Steel

EMC Steel Adapters are dual-purpose accessories to EMC's U-Guards for use when underground cables are in conduit at the pole.

U-Guard Back Plates

Our dual-purpose back plate can be used with both EMC's steel and plastic U-Guards. It  is a dual purpose because it offsets the cable way from the pole to prevent contact with pole preservative and it is also designed to maintain shielding integrity of U Guards by forming a tamper proof enclosure.

Ground Wire Molding

EMC's plastic ground wire molding has the following features which provide a more economical installation than other materials.

Grounding Clamps — Stainless

EMC GRODC 190 Clamp provides reliable attachment to various sizes of ground rods or pipes and a wide range of ground wire sizes. The clamp is designed for use in grounding any type of metal enclosure or structure which has a 7/16" square hole provided.

Pole Mounted Straps

Heavy duty galvanized and aluminum conduit mounting straps for the installation of pole mounted conduit.

Conduit Mounting Bracket — Standoff

The EMC Aluminum Stand Off Mounting Bracket offers a means for mounting conduit onto utility poles. The Stand Off Mounting Bracket is designed to handle various sizes of conduit.
